seemed likely they would retake the lead. However Luke
Asotasi was stopped on 4th and inches and they would not
take advantage of the turnover.

A further battle of punts ensued and the Giants seemingly

got on top. As time counted down they were moving into
position for a game winning field goal only for ALex
Nikorima to stripped the ball away from Taylor. Sam Hughes
recovered. The game turned on its head and now Auckland
were working in for the game winning field goal. With 5
seconds left Dent drilled a 33 yarder for the winner.
