SFP-1 and MFP-1 Mid-Frequency Pingers
Acoustic pingers are devices that generate sonar signals un-
derwater. They are used to mark an underwater site or piece of
equipment so a returning diver, using a pinger receiver, can
locate the exact spot. Pingers are available with different trans-
mit frequencies so several can be deployed in the same gen-
eral area without interference from each other. The diver ad-
justs his pinger receiver to the frequency of the desired pinger
and the receiver leads him directly to it.
JW Fishers family of mid-frequency commercial grade pingers
include both the Single Frequency Pinger (SFP-1) and the Mul-
tifrequency Pinger (MFP-1). The SFP-1 is available in several
frequencies one of which is specified at time of order (22, 26,
30, or 37.5 kHz). The MFP-1 has user selectable frequencies
from 20 to 50 kHz in 500 Hz increments. The operator selects
one of 60 different frequencies before deploying the pinger. Many
pingers can be deployed in the same general area, each broad-
casting at a different frequency. A diver with a pinger receiver
can pinpoint the exact location of each pinger without interfer-
ence from the other pingers. Mid-frequency acoustic pingers
have a range of several thousand feet.
Fishers pingers are very flexible allowing the operator to se-
lect the number of pulses per second, the length of each pulse,
and the output power. The length of each pulse and output
power adjustments allow the operator to adjust the distance
the pingers can be detected. With the MFP-1 the transmission
frequency can be selected by the operator before deployment.
These features make the SFP-1 and the MFP-1 extremely ver-
satile and the first choice for almost any application.
Power for the pingers is supplied by standard alkaline batter-
ies which last from a few days to many months, depending on
output power and pulse selection. Optional larger housings
(more batteries) are available which significantly extend the
operating time. The Very Long Duration housing lets the pinger
operate for years.
The pinger can be automatically activated when put in the
water, or manually activated with a jumper on the circuit board.
Fishers pingers are covered by a full TWO YEAR WARRANTY.

SLFP-1 and MLFP-1 Low-Frequency Pingers

These low-frequency acoustic pingers have a 3-6 mile range
versus a several thousand foot range for conventional mid-fre-
quency (30-40kHz) pingers
JW Fishers family of commercial grade low-frequency acous-
tic pingers include both the 12 kHz Single Low-Frequency Pinger
(SLFP-1) and the Multi Low-Frequency Pinger (MLFP-1). The
SLFP-1 is available in 11-16 kHz, one of which is specified at
time of order. The MLFP-1 has user selectable frequencies from
11-16 kHz in 500 Hz increments. The operator selects one of
11 different frequencies before deploying the pinger.

pulse and output power allow the operator to adjust the dis-
tance the pingers can be detected. With the MLFP-1 the trans-

The optional PC Software allows the operator, using a PC
laptop, to fine tune the variable settings including selecting de-
layed start (from a minute to a 365 day delay start).
