This standard has been prepared by ISO/TC 108 ‘Mechanical vibration and shock’, SC 1 ‘Balancing, includ-
ing balancing machines’.
The responsible German body involved in its preparation was the Normenausschuss Akustik, Lärmminde-
rung und Schwingungstechnik (Acoustics, Noise Control and Vibration Engineering Standards Committee),
Technical Committee Auswuchten und Auswuchtmaschinen.

This standard differs from the December 1993 edition as follows:
a) Instead of correction planes, references planes for balance tolerances have been specified.
b) Annexes A to E giving examples of calculation have been included to facilitate the application of the
standard.
c) The standard has been editorially revised.
