Definition:

The simple present tense is when you use a verb to


tell about things that happen continually in the
present, like every day, every week, or every
month. We use the simple present tense for
anything that happens often or an activity that
takes place in routine.. Here are a few examples:

● I go to school every day.


● We play outside after school each day.
● Every Monday they eat spaghetti for dinner.

★ Formation/sentence structure

Subject + Its form of verb + object.


● He, she, it and singular nouns carries s/es with
the verb.

a verb ends with this letter (-ch, -sh, -s, -x, -z),
we add -es at the end of the verb.

Examples:

● She brushes her teeth three times a day.


● Your phone buzzes.
● Mary wishes that she is rich.
● It relaxes me alot.
● Tom teaches English.
● She misses you much.

● I, we, you, they and plural nouns does not

Carries s/es with the verb.

Examples:

● He never eats breakfast.


● It almost never rains here.
● The match starts at 7 o'clock.
● He sometimes visits me.
● He usually tells lies.
● My son feels sick every morning.
● My dad shaves every morning.
● My father scarcely ever smokes.

Q.1 Make any five sentences using simple


present tense.

He never eats his breakfast because he is very


lazy and is depended on others.

Whenever I sit in the car it feels like i will


throw up due to I am claustrophobic.

I always laugh when the cricket match start


because India is going to fail.

In quarantine my dad shaves his beard everyday


because he does not want to grow it.
My father smokes allot but I have stopped his
bad habbits.
