Position: Mineral Resources Inventory (MRI) Geologist


Work Location: Sorowako

Purpose of the Role:


To perform ore modeling and mineral resource estimation activities to support PTVI’s Growth Plan and
Life of Mine (LOM) to accomplish the annual Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserve (MRMR) reporting
as a basis for PTVI's strategic planning.

Accountabilities:
1. Perform validation of all required supporting data for mineral resources modelling process to ensure
proper quality of the resulted block model and resource estimation.
2. Perform mineral resources modeling as the basis of annual MRMR reporting and mineral resources
studies to support mine production planning and strategic growth program.
3. Conduct peer review to maintain the quality of block modelling process as well as its outputs to avoid
fatal flaws.
4. Provide technical reports of block modelling and its peer reviews to get well documented process in
order to be easily traced for audit trail
5. Conduct study, improvement and development of the mineral resource estimation process based on
the audit recommendation and MRMR readiness assessment to achieve estimation best practices
6. Provide technical supports and problem solving to the groups of Exploration, Projects, Mine
Engineering and Planning, and Grade Control to get clarity from block models and the exploration
database
7. Conduct coordination with the groups of Mineral Resource Assessment, Long Term Planning, and
Ore Reconciliation to address reconciliation issues to improve Sorowako's production block model
8. Managing PTVI's mineral resource and mineral reserve database inventory to increase data security
and accessibility

1. Ni laterite geology and deposit knowledge, related mineralogy, ore type and its characteristics
2. Laterite exploration methods knowledge and exploration targeting
3. Geological Correlation and Interpretation
4. Geology Database Management
5. Geological Assessment
6. Geology Modelling and Mineral Resources Estimation
7. Geological Mapping
8. Exploration Drilling
9. Geological Sampling and Quality of Minerals
10. Mine Geology, Grade Control, Quality Assurance and Reconciliation
11. EHS implementation in Exploration
12. Mining Software knowledge (i.e. RES2DINV, Vulcan, Datamine, Surpac, LeapFrog, ArcGIS, Map-
info, ER Mapper and Surfer).

Requirement:
1. S1 degree majoring Geological Engineering with min 5 years experiences
2. POP (mandatory), POM (preferable)
3. Possesses Competent Person Indonesia (CPI) (preferable)
4. Possesses membership of Geoscience professional organization (IAGI-MGEI, AusIMM ) (preferable)
