i. Before reading the article/understanding the lesson, I thought that Philippines does not export
professionals. However, reading the article/understanding the lesson, I now think/realize that
because of exporting of professionals in 1980s and 1990s caused the Philippines’ economy
stunted, being left behind by other countries.

ii. Before reading the article/understanding the lesson, I thought that new urban middle classes
are not important significant. However, reading the article/understanding the lesson, I now
think/realize that provide regional markets for MNCs, their lifestyle, music, fashion, and such
more firms. They also opened up for possibility of mediated markets.

iii. After reading the article/understanding the lesson, I now think/realize that new urban middle
classes is a vital stake for financial globalization and regionalization of production. It is
because they are shaped by the Americanization, Japanization, and Sinicization.
