Human Skull 3D papercraft

Print:
Print on a high quality cardstock paper. This template is designed for letter size sheets (8.5” x 11”),
but will work well on A4 sheets too.
The printed side will be on the inside of the model, the outside should stay clean.

Cut:
Cut along the solid lines. We recommend using a sharp utility knife with a metal ruler as a guide
(see diagram). You can also use scissors.

Fold:
Before folding, you need to score the fold lines. You can use a special scoring tool, a sharp object
like a safety pin or a utility knife. You need to scratch the surface of the paper to force it to fold in
the right place but not cutting it all the way. Use a ruler for accurate straight lines.
Dashed line - Valley folds. The paper will form a valley or V shape on the printed side of the page
(this fold will bulge out on the clean exterior of the model).
Dash dot line - Mountain folds. The paper will bulge out on the printed side of the page.
Utility knife + metal ruler
Glue:
Use a good quality quick drying liquid glue, We use UHU all purpose adhesive (yellow tube) or
Scotch gel glue (green tube). Cover the flaps with a thin layer of glue to prevent seams. The glue
should be applied on the clear (not printed) side of the paper. Moutain
fold
Assembly:
The model parts are build from surfaces and flaps. Flaps are used to attach different surfaces to
each other. Flaps are marked with the letter F and a number and are glued to the corresponding
number printed on another surface.
The parts are numbered in the optimal assembly order.

Steps: Valley
- Print pages 2-8 of this PDF file fold
- Cut along the solid line to free all of the parts
- Score all of the folding lines
- Fold the paper along each folding line both ways. This will help assembly later on.
- Assemble each part - some of the parts have flaps that needs to be attached to the same part.
- Assemble the complete model - apply glue on all of the flaps that will attach to the opposite part,
attach the flaps one by one.

Order: 10 F10
- Attach part 2 (the nasal cavity) to part 1 (the front of the skull).
- Attach parts 3 & 4 to part 1.
- Attach parts 5 & 6 (eye cavities) to the front of the skull.
Flap
- Parts #7-14: assemble parts in numerical order.
- Parts #15-18: attach parts to each other and then to the rest of the skull.

Notes and tips:

- Take your time! This should be a fun project. If you did something wrong you can always reprint
the part you need. It should take about two hours to complete.
- You can use colored paper for a more interesting look.
