Curriculum Specialist for Health and Physical Education, Family Life Education & Driver Education
Responsible for coordinating, developing, implementing, and monitoring K-12 curriculum for Health and Physical Education
throughout the division. Complex work is performed within specific departmental objectives and policies; employee plans own work
and coordinates with others as necessary. Contacts are regularly and frequently made at all organizational levels within and outside
the department to explain and implement programs; professional judgment is required.

Richmond Strikers Under 11 Girls Soccer Coach (fall 1998- spring 2000)
Training players and preparing them for games and tournaments. I coached players from U5 to U16. My duties included regular
communication with the Kickers, parents, and tournament officials.
Leadership
Curriculum
As a teacher, I have been a member of curriculum revision committees in Chesterfield and Hanover Counties. The committee
was responsible to update the curriculum by adding content and updating the current curriculum to align with the Virginia
Standards of Learning. While in Hanover, as a part of the school Health Advisory Board, I was involved in the committee process
of textbook adoption for Health and Physical Education
Grant

As an educator, I have actively sought grants to supplement my physical education program. Since 2007, I have received grants
for multiple sources, such as the USTA, ING, Marathon Kids, Safe Routes to School, First Tee, totaling over $30,000 in grant
funding. These funds have helped implement and support the schools running club, walk to school days, tennis program,
archery program, and fishing program.
Presentations
Present nationally to colleagues on various topics in Health, Physical Education, Leadership and Technology. I have been invited
and presented at several state Health and Physical Education conventions/workshops, national, state and district leadership
conferences, as well as presenting over 40 presentations at the school district, state and national level.
