NOVENA TO ST.

AUGUSTINE

The ASOLC National Liturgy Committee presents to us, Augustinian Sisters, this revised 9-day Novena
Prayers in celebration of the great feast of our father St. Augustine on August 28 of each year. We are
deeply grateful to Sr. Jocelyn Widwid, OSA, the Chair of the National Liturgy Committee and Councilor
on Community Life and Spirituality, for giving us new insights and adding freshness to our yearly novena
prayers.

The themes chosen for the nine-day novena-prayers are taken from the thoughts and teachings of St.
Augustine, namely, Interiority, Search for truth and wisdom, Prayer, Humility, Freedom, Unity in
community, Love and friendship, Common good, and Charity and service to the Church. It is the
intention of this booklet of novena-prayers that the Sisters get to a deeper knowledge of the basic
teachings of St. Augustine so as to come close to the mind and heart of their father in religious life.

May every Augustinian Sister who prays these novena-prayers come close to God and ever give glory to
God in her words and deeds.

HANDBOOK OF DEVOTIONAL PRAYERS

The National Liturgy Committee of ASOLC offers this revised version of the “Handbook of Devotional
Prayers” to the Augustinian Sisters of Our Lady of Consolation as a companion to the Liturgy of the
Hours. In this handbook, one can find devotional prayers for daily occasions, prayers in honor of saints,
specially Augustinian saints, prayer petitions to acquire virtues, a litany in honor of St. Augustine and St.
Monica and a guide on how to pray the holy Rosary.

Every ASOLC sister will find this booklet of prayers handy in their daily prayer life. It can also be used in
prayer gatherings with lay people as seen fit for the purpose and occasion.

We are most grateful to Sr. Jocelyn Widwid, OSA, the Chair of the National Liturgy Committee and
Councilor on Community Life and Spirituality for updating this booklet for the common use of all the
Augustinian Sisters of Our Lady of Consolation and all our constituents.

May these prayers lead us to an encounter with God as we journey toward Holiness.
