Entering grades 4th & 5th – In this class,
students will learn to create original cartoon
characters, settings, and storyboards. Students will explore
different aspects of cartooning and develop a family of funny
characters. Drawing techniques for creating the illusion of depth
and form will be introduced along with other innovative mark
making exercises. They will work with a variety of media and
create a Claymation-style model to draw from. Includes all art
supplies. (See page 4)
FASHION DESIGN
Entering grades 6th to 10th – Develop your own fashion brand
and explore the latest trends straight from the runway! Learn to
use artistic and design thinking processes, and build hands-on
creative and problem-solving skills.

PHYSICS & ENGINEERING
(CUPERTINO ONLY)
Entering grades 7th to 9th – Prerequisite: Students who are
comfortable kit building or who have taken “Fun with Physics“
will make greatest use of this class. This course is designed
to teach key physics principles by having student engineers
read and follow kit assembly instructions to build their own
project, then work in teams to modify projects and compete
in design challenges. Students will explore the interaction of
forces, motion and energy by building such things as bridges,
speakers, windmills, solar circuits and roller coasters using
simple, everyday materials. (See page 11)

Welcome to the De Anza College Summer Enrichment Program
We offer a wide selection of fee-based, not-for-credit enrichment classes, many of which are project based,
hands-on and designed for students entering 1st through 10th grades.

Students must be enrolled into the grade level they will enter
in fall 2016. For example if your student completed 5th grade in (1st - 5th Grade) (6th - 10th Grade)
June 2016, s/he should be enrolled in 6th grade level classes. Class 1: 8:15 - 9:10 a.m. Class 1: 8:30 - 9:25 a.m.
Students must be enrolled in consecutive classes to remain on Class 2: 9:15 - 10:10 a.m. Class 2: 9:30 - 10:25 a.m.
