Aims:
Technology has made our lives easier. We can do everything simply and efficiently by
using various electronic devices, such as shown in the picture. Do you know how to operate
those electronic devices? Showing steps on how to operate electronic devices are examples
of procedural texts. Now, you will learn about procedural texts in this unit.
How to wash:
1. Scrape off any remaining food from the dishes before placing them in the dishwasher.
If the food has hardened, you need to soak the dishes first.
2. Check to make sure the dishes are all dishwasher safe.
3. Place glassware on the top rack and silverware on the silverware rack.
4. Stack plates in the bottom of the dishwasher.
5. Place pots, pans and bakeware around the other dishes, but do not block the water
sprayer.
6. Place dish detergent designed for dishwasher use in the soap dispenser.
Steps/Methods 7. Add rinse agent to prevent water spots if your dishwasher has functionality.
8. Close the dishwasher door.
9. Select the wash cycle for your dishes. If you are washing mostly pots and pans,
a heavy cycle will work best.

fall below the racks, they can melt.
• Avoid placing non-stick (teflon) pans in the dishwasher.
