Rationale : The business plan is an important tool to help students find and explore opportunities. Students at any level of education can
use the concept of preparing a business plan as a method of exploring all kinds of ideas for starting a business.
Contact Hours : 54 hours lecture, 0 hours laboratory

Credit Units : 3 Units Lecture
Course Description : This is a three-unit course that will cover the features of a feasibility study and a business plan to include marketing,
operations, personnel and financial resources. Requirements in manufacturing and service sectors will be given emphasis. A
comprehensive marketing plan of a particular project shall be expected as a major output of the course.
Program Learning Outcomes : A graduate of BS Entrepreneurship should be able to:
a. conduct a self-assessment to determine level of entrepreneurial competencies.

b. analyze/scan the environment to determine business opportunities and develop their profitability profiles from which
entrepreneurial ventures can be selected from.
c. prepare a business plan.
d. mobilize the necessary human, financial, logistical, and technical resources to implement the business plan.
e. prepare and comply with requirements for business operation
f. operate and manage the enterprise observing good governance and social responsibility.
g. apply entrepreneurial management in any organization other than own enterprise.

1. identify the importance of business planning and its advantages, as well as the step by step procedure in preparing a
business plan.
2. practice creative and innovative thinking in identifying entrepreneurial/technopreneurial opportunities;
3. explain the importance of environmental scanning and evaluating venture ideas;
4. explain the nature and importance of the business plan
5. outline the enterprise planning process
6. identify the specific components of the business plan
7. discuss the nature and importance of the marketing function in an enterprise
8. explain the various items in a marketing plan
9. write individual group’s marketing plan for an identified project idea.
