    This poem describes wearing a mask to hide one's true feelings from others. Behind the smile and laughter is sadness and pain that has lasted for years. While appearing happy and carefree on the surface, many struggles go unspoken. The speaker wishes to reveal their true self from under the mask but has decided to continue hiding behind a facade for the sake of avoiding questions from others about what is wrong.

    MY MASK

    MY SMILE HIDES MY TEARS.


    MY LAUGH HIDES MY SCREAMS.
    IT'S BEEN THIS WAY FOR YEARS.
    THINGS AREN'T AS THEY SEEM.

    I Always Seem So Happy.


    With Not A Care In The World.
    But You Should Know, Sadly
    Many Things Go Untold.

    nobody really knows me.


    they only know my cover.
    but i wish i could let it free.
    let them know what's under.
