|| PERSONAL STATEMENT

I am an incoming freshman at California State University Long Beach working towards a volunteer position
in the Peace Corps after I graduate. I have been passionate about exploring different cultures ever since I was
7 years old and left the United States for the first time. My long-term career goals include working
internationally, so teaching and volunteering abroad provides an invaluable opportunity for experience and
greater cultural understanding. My research interests are related to trends of political polarization, fragmenting
nationalism, underlying cultural biases, globalization, and economics. In my free time, you’d probably find
me at an art museum, baking, or reading a good book.
