11. A big company XYZ, as it grows in terms of size and revenue, faces the inevitable challenge
of managing their human resources. He is interested to know the overall position (or status)
of the company and also wishes to conduct a sample survey for assessing the factors causing
the slowing down of the organization. In order to execute well-informed business decision,
managers need to understand the work being done on the front line of the business with a
special reference to the employee’s satisfaction and motivation, which is essential to the
success of any business. Therefore, keeping employee satisfied with their careers should be
the major priority for every employer. There are numerous reasons for employees to be
discouraged with their jobs and for them to resign; which include high stress, lack of
communication within the company, lack of recognition, or limited opportunity for growth
and so on.
Management should actively seek to improve these factors if they hope to lower their turnover
rate. Several research studies have shown that the motivated and satisfied employees tend to
contribute more in terms of organizational productivity and maintaining a commitment to
customer satisfaction. The findings of the studies have also indicated that there is a significant
positive relative relationship between overall job satisfaction and the various above mentioned
factors along with the training and development programs conducted to upgrade the skills of
the employees, the workplace culture (i.e. the working environment), promotion
opportunities.
The objectives of the study are as follows:
(i) To understand the procedures and policies regarding the training, development, and
promotion opportunities of the organization; and
(ii) To understand the employee’s satisfaction level in the company with respect to
the following parameters
To evaluate the above mentioned objectives, a formal survey is to be conducted
administering a structured questionnaire. The HR manager is contemplating to use
systematic random sampling and has decided to fix a sample size of 100 out of a total 500
employees. The data has been summarized in an Excel sheet arranging in order from 1 to
500.

500 using systematic random sampling.
