Concept; Life of Butterfly, week 3 for chrysalises of butterfly

Previous Knowledge: Few kids may be able to recognize a butterfly and tell its English butterfly and
where they have seen it before

Objective: Students will be able to identify the sequence of a butterfly’s life cycle starting with
chrysalises in week 3

Teaching methodology:

 Show pictures of real chrysalises to students.


 Draw on board
 Ask students to identify chrysalises in week 3.
 Read from book for understanding about the concepts in the book.

Activity: show pictures of Butterfly life cycle, draw the stages of butterfly life cycle on board and start
with chrysalises in week 3

Materials:

 Song "Butterfly, Butterfly!"


 Pictures of chrysalises

 Draw the chrysalises of a Butterfly worksheet


 Color the chrysalises: Butterfly worksheet
Assignment: Pass out the chrysalises of a Butterfly worksheet and have students complete it
independently. Instruct students to jot down the main topic on the back of their worksheet (e.g. the life
cycle of a butterfly) and 2-3 key details (e.g. A butterfly starts as an egg or Caterpillars become
butterflies.)

Assessment: Check students' worksheets for accuracy and clarify any misconceptions.
