PHILADEPLPHIA BREWING EXPERIENCE

PBX PHILADELPHIA BREWING ACADEMY

EDUCATION PROGRAMS:

BREWING INCUBATOR:
Objective: A comprehensive program that leads brewers through the brewing coursework
to “hands on” brewing and into brewpub operations. This program will teach all retail
operation requirements to plan, build, open, and operate a new brewery brand. Top
students will brew in residence and learn the policies, procedures, and best practices re-
quired to launch, staff, and manage their own brewpub. Through PBX, incubator program
graduates will have access to professional and investor networks required to finance and
start their new business. PBX may retain an ownership stake in the new brewery brands.
The incubator program may include possible collaborations with The Restaurant School
or similar HRM academic programs. Approx. Residence Durations: 12 months.

PUBLIC CLASSES:
Public Seminars and deeper dives into education.
Numerous continually rotating programs could include 1-4 hrs classes:
Brew With The Best (Celebrity Brewers)
Brewing Basics: the Fundamentals of brewing
Ales to Stouts: Beer styles 101.
Brewing History: Philadelphia and beyond
Brewing Biology
Sustainability in brewing. Many, many, more.

CONTINUING ED:
For novice and experienced brewers and craft brewery owners. Returning students and
established brewers can learn continuing Ed in latest, methods, sciences, techniques, etc.
These programs are geared toward established brewers that may not have learned the
basics before establishing their own breweries. This is the opportunity to go back and
learn all basic techniques and skills as well as latest technologies that continue to evolve.

EDUCATION PROGRAMS:

BEER CAMP:
Public education for brewing clubs, home brewers and enthusiasts. Includes educational
programs and brewing competitions. Winning brews will be judged by celebrity brewers
and will be featured on tap at the PBX.

CLASS STUDIES: 2 classrooms


Objective: Accredited course work (possibly in collaboration with USCIENCES existing
program.) Possibly expending that curriculum to step to 7bbl brewing course work and
hands on brewing. Potentially start a new Philadelphia brewing academy to be owned
and run by outside entity
