Problem Solving Workshop Series for Educators Sept. 2019- May 2020
Identified K-12 education as an opportunity for process improvement and problem-solving techniques to improve
efficiency and help teachers do more with less. Developed new curriculum based on prominent process improvement
methodologies and taught a workshop session based on that curriculum.
Deliverables: thesis (47 page report), curriculum outline, workshop presentation materials, workshop analysis
surveys, presentation. Abstract was accepted for ASEM 2020 International Conference, paper review pending.
Hired as a consultant to create basic inventory management system and write standard operating procedures for
technicians.
Deliverables: Excel-based inventory management system, inventory management analysis report (EOQ/ROP
discussion, strategic plan, standard operating procedure for system, process flowcharts), standard operating
procedures for technicians.
Worked with school staff to revive a recycling program and create a path for all schools in the Hamilton County area.
Partnered with local recycling services, school officials, and community members to develop an easy, step-by-step
process that schools could follow to set up a long-term recycling program.
Deliverables: Recycling Program Manual, website.
CookSpark: Healthy Meal Program for College Students Startup Oct. 2017- Mar. 2018
Developed a business plan for a startup and pitched idea at UTC’s annual pitch competition. Startup was based on a
meal program that would teach college students how to cook easy, healthy, and cost-effective meals with the goal of
building lifelong healthy habits.
Deliverables: pitch, startup proposal, business plan, promotional stats flyer, logo design.
Identified opportunity for campus dorm that had little to no space for student studying and collaboration. Formally
submitted proposal to UTC Department of Housing and Residential Life in 2016. Renovation completed in 2017.
