I have a variety of experience from over the past several years in a variety of positions that
pertain to aspects of the campaign. As a member of my school’s Key Club board, I’m in charge of
the Community Committee and organizing large local events. I am the French Social Media
Specialist for “Projet Molato”, a reality-tv competition based on fashion design produced in the
Democratic Republic of Congo, and I have lots of experience writing and posting on social
media. However, I specifically gained lots of practical knowledge after my fellowship with Jan
Schakowsky, my US Congresswoman. From learning more about Votebuilder and other
campaign tools to helping refine my skills in graphic design, I believe that I have lots of skills to
bring to your campaign.
Although I have gotten involved in my home state of Illinois, most of the campaigns that I have
previously volunteered have been in such blue regions that there was no question of the
outcome of each race. I frequently visit New Hampshire to visit my family in Manchester, so I’m
pretty familiar with New Hampshire and have spent many summers with my cousins exploring
the state. After finding your campaign, I immediately knew that I wanted to get involved. The
Volinsky for New Hampshire campaign prioritizes climate change whilst providing specific
actions and explanations of how he will put his plans into action. Whilst having big goals, he also
provides pragmatic derscriptions of how he will reach these goals, all without accepting any
corporate PAC money. I want to get involved in the Volinsky campaign because of its
progressive values and passion for change. As I have become more politically involved as a
teenager, I have been inspired to learn more about the important issues affecting my
community and the world overall. When exploring the possibilities of a career in politics, I want
to do so with a campaign that I believe in.
As I’ve stated, most of my involvement with local politics has been in races that are not heavily
contested or sometimes without opposition. I want to have practice bringing my experience to
a campaign where every effort will truly add up towards a race that could go either way.
Warmest regards,
Sarah Ordway
