SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT

Partially desludge of sewage treatment plant as detailed below, only to be


performed when not in restricted waters or to a shore facility.

a. Shut down the unit and leave it for 30 minutes.

b. After 30 minutes connect the discharge pump to the aeration compartment.

c. Ensure overboard discharge valve is open, and the recirculation valves (if fitted)
are closed.

d. Start discharge pump manually and run it until approximately 75% of the
tank content have been discharged.

e. Remove cover on top of aeration tank and check that the screen below is
clean. If necessary flush the screen with clean fresh or seawater.

f. Refill unit with clean fresh or sea water and return valves to normal service
position.

g. Set the discharge pump to "Auto".

NOTE:
As per GSMS id.: 11167 "Sewage Management on Vessels", Section 'Records
of discharge':
* Ensure that when untreated or comminuted-disinfected sewage is discharged,
relevant records are maintained in the engine log book. As a minimum these shall
include:
- Date / Time / Vessel Position at the Start of Discharge
- Date / Time / Vessel Position at the End of Discharge
- Vessels speed during discharge
- Calculated rate of discharge (ONLY for UNTREATED SEWAGE)
* In case of galley food waste mixed with the sewage make sure that discharge
happens in compliance with MARPOL Annex V as well, and record the amount
of food waste discharge with sewage in the Garbage Record book.

s per maker's recommendation:
1. Drain lubricating oil, and open crank case.

2. Clean and check crankcase for loose parts.

3. Check bolt for retaining washer (at end of crankshaft pintle)


Correct tightening torque see point 6. If bolt is loose lock
washer to be replaced.

4. Refill with new oil.


Use oil according to lubricating scheme.

5. Check air inlet filter, clean as found necessary.

6. Correct torque settings for spanner: M6 6Nm, M8 16Nm, M10 32Nm,


M12 53Nm, M16 132Nm

7. El motor bearings to be greased by grease gun, 2-3 strokes.

As per company's experience:


8. Drain/unloading solenoid valves (1st and 2nd stage) to be
Cleaned and checked of proper function

9. "Low oil level shutdown" sensor to be tested for proper function
