Partograph in all health facilities
2. All service providers should properly monitor labour by using the
partograph. Timely requisition and supply of essential drugs for
mother and new-born care
3. Timely intervention or referral of all maternal/new-born
complications
4. Constant mentoring and coaching of staff on maternal and new-born
care
5. Complete assessment of both mother and child during PNC visit.

Improve the quality of Maternal and new-born care

Activities
1. Provision of IPC materials at all health facilities
2. Conduct monthly Supportive supervision in all health facilities
3. All facilities should have the requisite staff to provide the quality
maternal and new-born care.
4. Provider should carry out Focused ANC.
5. Conduct community awareness on danger signs in pregnancy
and provide health education on birth properness to all pregnant
women
6. Conduct birth spacing and nutritional counselling to all mothers
and care givers.
7. Provision of facility base IMNCI services including emergency
triage and treatment
