Question No:1
Identify the teamwork problems you think Calvin might be facing ?
Answer:
Calvin the director of disaster insurance at the global insurance company, was faced with many
problems within the company. Although he had two major jobs, he struggled with team control
and managerial performance. The employees lacked company mission, vision and goals. Calvin
is facing teamwork problems and the main hurdle lack of communication, organization and
structural problems, as well as Calvin also have some personnel issues which creates problems
between teamwork

Question No:2
What steps do you recommend Calvin take to enhance teamwork in his global
disaster insurance team ?
Answer:
In order for his company to improve he had to come up with ways to become a more effective
leader by improving his communication skills. Calvin could practice E-leadership with each of
his ten reps. He should organize weekly meetings in all of the time zones to monitor progress and
strategies for sales. He should incorporate email and skype more frequently.

Question No:3
 What might Calvin do to provide stronger leadership to his global team ?
Answer:
A mission statement needs to be established. Appointed leaders and team members should know
what they are trying to accomplish and the reason behind doing so. Group Emotional Intelligence
is needed in order to create norms to establish mutual trust among all team members.
Cooperation theory needs to be encouraged to those team members who are competing for the
same goal.
Calvin must invite all the members to make short term site visits where they can meet face to
face, but Calvin must structure the "unstructured time. This means creating opportunities to chat
and to receive feedback from his team members.
