Course Objectives
The course is designed to equip the students with the statistical tools and concepts used in the
decision making process in various business entities. The goal is to introduce a new way of
thinking about data, and to gain an understanding of how to use, communicate, and interpret
statistics. It is a foundation course required of all business majors because statistics is an
integral part of the structure and functions of business. The knowledge and skills will help in
advanced business courses and business career. Methods of descriptive and inferential
statistics are covered with specific reference to measures of central tendency, probability
distribution, hypothesis testing, regression and correlation, and other statistical analysis for
business decisions.
