NUST GRADUATE
PLACEMENT REPORT 2017-18
Being well conversant with the challenges and needs of modern job market, and with industries
moving to 4.0, NUST fosters an enabling environment tailored to approaches that nurture market-
ready graduates. NUST has emerged as the leading university in Pakistan both in “Employers’
Reputation” as per QS World Rankings 2020 and “Partnerships with Employers” as per QS Graduate
Employability Rankings 2020.
We have a well-orchestrated mechanism in place that monitors the emerging market trends;
progressively incorporates new strategies to enhance graduate employability; and welcomes
corporate leaders for the graduate recruitment. In 2019, NUST took the initiative of holding a series
of job fairs in the three major cities of Pakistan: Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore. The initiative was
well received by the leading employers, and simultaneously enabled students to come closer to
the industry. We also take pride in our ever-expanding alumni network, which has always put their
weight behind our efforts to ensure placement of our graduates.
NUST looks forward to joining hands with new employers and strengthening long-term mutually
beneficial corporate partnerships. I can vouch for our graduates’ professional acumen and
commitment to serve!
My compliments to the NUST Placement Office for all its efforts and, at the same time, hoping to see
it further excel in its endeavours to find better opportunities for Nustians.

Matching Skill-Set with

Placement Opportunities
The NPO team directs its efforts for the placements of the graduating class and helps them
explore progressive careers of their choice, as well as assists sophomores and junior year
students to secure internships. For the aforementioned purpose, we organise the NUST
Annual Career Fair to connect our recruiting partners with our students.

We facilitate our recruiting partners in arranging their on campus recruitment activities that
include recruitment and internship drives, assessment centres, focus groups and interview
– essential activities that help them hire high potential recruits.

We organise a series of development and grooming sessions, mock assessments and

interviews, inviting experienced professionals for skilled grooming of our students in line with
the existing job market scenario. These grooming activities enhance students’ professional
skills, which include professional behaviour, résumé writing, interview skills, personal
branding, and employability.

Our recruiting partners recognise the talent in our students and appreciate their immaculate
analytical and advanced skill set.

Techlogix and NUST have had a long-standing affiliation. Every year, numerous fresh graduates are
hired through campus recruitment from NUST, and many others through the lateral process. We have
found NUST graduates to be an asset to our organization due to their sincerity, integrity as well as the
attitude towards work. We found a heterogeneous mix of students with varied backgrounds whose
approach, outlook and enthusiasm was something we admire. We look forward to a continued enriching
long-term relation with NUST, and wish that it will continue to propel further success as a world class
academic institution.

CDC has launched a wonderful initiative to educate students on critical skills to increase chances of
employability. The sooner we start teaching our students about how to fit the industry and market’s
needs, the better we equip them for the future. It is even further commendable that the university
priorities the students to such a degree that an entire department is dedicated to these activities, this
breaks the monotony of academia with a fresh perspective. I sincerely hope other universities rapidly
adopt this programme and make it a part of their curriculum.
