NUST GR ADUATE
PLACEMENT REPORT 2018-19
Rector’s Message
Being well aware of the challenges of the current job market and national as well as global economic conditions, we have
a mission of making NUSTians a premium choice for employment at the top recruiting companies globally and in the
local job markets. For which, we give special focus on the mentoring, grooming and coaching. In order to prepare stu-
dents to be able to link theory to practice and develop the right skill set, we emphasize on the importance of internships,
thus, provide internships according to students’ demographic distribution, field of study and area of interest. Resul-
tantly, almost 70% of our graduates get hired within six months of their graduation, and as per QS World Ranking we
score 94% employment rate with one year of graduation. In 2019, we took the initiative of holding a series of job fairs in
the three major cities of Pakistan: Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore, and in 2020. The initiative was well received by the
leading employers, and simultaneously enabled students to come closer to the industry, thus, in 2020 we have included
Faisalabad and Multan too. This is to offer the best talent pool to our industry partners at their local stations.
Every year, we host a number of international internees from all across the globe under NUST Internship Program for
International Students (NIPIS) to give experience of working at NUST’s state-of-the-art labs, under the guidance of
qualified subject matter experts.
Adapting an open policy, we always welcome corporate partnerships for recruitment and other domains as well. In light
of this, I am also pleased to share, that we have joined hands with some of the top recruiting organizations, to strength-
en long term mutually beneficial corporate relationship. According to the reviews, with utmost effort, dedication and
commitment NUSTians have proved to be the best resource at their work places.
I am also grateful to our alumni family for supporting us in the placement of our graduates. We surely need their sup-
port in shaping the future of Pakistan, by providing guidance, mentorship and placement opportunities to the talent pool
that we aim to place every year at the top recruiting firms and organizations.

NUST Graduate Placement Report 2018-19 Ranked #1 in Employers’ Reputation

Here is what our Industry

Partners have to say !

I’ve been coordinating with NUST’s Placement Office for the last 3 years for our campus
recruitment drives. The response from the NPO team has been amazing, not just in helping
with coordinating the students and sharing our message but also following up with us for the
performances of students we hire through on campus recruitment programmes. Their dedicated
and strong liaison with Huawei, makes us believe about NPO as one of the best organised industry
partners.

Over the years, we have been extremely impressed with our relationship with NUST and their
facilitation to help us liaise and connect with their students. We have had graduates from
NUST over the years and they all come with a broad perspective of succeeding in the business
community. I would like to congratulate the University for developing leaders with strong
business fundamentals and facilitating us to implement various interventions to build future
leaders of our country.

Techlogix and NUST have had a long-standing affiliation. Every year, numerous fresh
graduates are hired through campus recruitment from NUST, and many others through
the lateral process. We have found NUST graduates to be an asset to our organization
due to their sincerity, integrity as well as the attitude towards work. We found a
heterogeneous mix of students with varied backgrounds whose approach, outlook and
enthusiasm was something we admire. We look forward to a continued enriching long-
term relation with NUST, and wish that it will continue to propel further success as a
world class academic institution.

CDC has launched a wonderful initiative to educate students on critical skills to

increase chances of employability. The sooner we start teaching our students about
how to fit the industry and market’s needs, the better we equip them for the future. It is
even further commendable that the university priorities the students to such a degree
that an entire department is dedicated to these activities, this breaks the monotony of
academia with a fresh perspective. I sincerely hope other universities rapidly adopt
this programme and make it a part of their curriculum.
