“The joy and pains of serving with humility and love”

“Knowing how to serve with humility and love means knowing
also how to embrace all the joys and pains along the journey
ahead”.
We as a people of God are subject at the service of life not to be served but rather to serve

with humility and love. In serving pains may be present every moment in our lives but we must

not set aside that the presence of the moment of happiness is also there. To journey on serving

hindrances and sacrifices might always be there but always remember that we are guided and

sustained by the law of love; a love which has its own source and model Jesus Christ the Son of

God made man, who by dying gave life to the world: “that for God so loved the world that He

gave us His Only Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life (Jan:

3:16”. Years that had past when I took the entrance examination at San Lorenzo Ruiz Seminary,

and I could still remember the very critical question, which really bothered me; “why do want to

become a priest?”. After some moment of silence, I answer it with this respond saying, “I want to

become a priest because I will try to serve God and His people and try to save souls”. Upon

answering such these thing, the very word “to serve” is really challenges me specially when I am

being served by somebody. Because in the beginning we are called and sent in order to serve

love. As Christians it is hard to serve but with love may we learn how to embrace these pains and

sufferings that might hinders us to serve and these must lead into joy. I know that sometimes we

are troubled just like my own experience during the fiesta celebration; at that moment I’m so in

pain because of some pressure. But with humility and love I learn that in serving there’s no pain
and sacrifices at all but happiness. I hope and pray that we may not stop serving and loving the

people most specially our lord Jesus Christ who ones serves his life in us.

                         "La alegría y los dolores de servir con humildad y amor"
"Saber cómo servir de medios de humildad y amor, sabiendo también cómo abrazar todas las
alegrías y los dolores a lo largo del camino por delante".
Nosotros, como pueblo de Dios estamos sujetos al servicio de la vida no para ser
servido sino a servir con humildad y amor. En dolores de ración pueden estar presentes cada
momento en nuestras vidas, pero no hay que dejar de lado que la presencia del momento de
felicidad también está allí. Para el viaje en el servicio a los obstáculos y sacrificios siempre
podría estar allí, pero siempre recordar que estamos guía y sostiene la ley del amor; un amor que
tiene su propia fuente y el modelo de Jesucristo, el Hijo de Dios hecho hombre, que muriendo ha
dado la vida al mundo: "que por tanto amó Dios al mundo que nos dio a su Hijo único para que
todo aquel que en él cree no se pierda, sino que tenga vida eterna (Jan: 3:16; ¿por qué quiere
llegar a ser un "años que habían pasado cuando tomé el examen de ingreso en el Seminario de

molestó." cura? ". Después de un momento de silencio, la respondo con este responde diciendo:"
Quiero ser sacerdote porque voy a tratar de servir a Dios y su pueblo y tratar de salvar almas”. Al
responder como estas cosas, la propia palabra "servir" está realmente me desafía especialmente
cuando estoy siendo atendido por alguien. Porque en el principio que estamos llamados y
enviados con el fin de servir al amor. Como cristianos, es difícil de servir, pero con amor puede
que aprender a abrazar estos dolores y sufrimientos que podrían nos estorba para servir y éstos
deben conducir en alegría sé que a veces tenemos problemas al igual que mi propia experiencia
durante la celebración de la fiesta.; en ese momento estoy tan en el dolor a causa de un poco de
presión. Pero con la humildad y el amor me entero de que en el servicio a que no hay dolor y
sacrificios en absoluto, sino la felicidad. Espero y rezo para que no deje de servir y amar a las
personas más especialmente nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que los sirve su vida en nosotros.
