Instructions for 2014 Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE CVT transmission fluid drain-and-fill

Special tools needed:

10mm Hex Bit Socket

Pump and tubing

Fill plug:

Drain plug:

Drain plug: Do NOT remove THIS plug (this is for coolant):

Fill plug: Do NOT remove the TOP plug that is ABOVE the drive shaft:

1. Raise car and support on jack stands making car as level as possible.

2. Remove FILL PLUG first (to be sure you can open this).

3. Remove DRAIN PLUG and drain fluid into a drain pan.

a. During initial replacement about 3.7 quarts came out.

4. Replace crush washer on drain plug and torque to 29 ft lbs.

a. Washer is Toyota part # 90430-A0003 ($2.70 each).

5. Using a pump and tubing add fluid into the FILL PORT until it is running out.

a. Fluid is Toyota ATF WS part # 00289-ATFWS ($9.39 each).

b. During initial replacement about 3.5 quarts went in.

6. Allow settling time to be sure no more fluid is dripping from the fill port.

7. Replace crush washer on fill plug and torque to 29 ft lbs.

a. Washer is Toyota part # 90430-A0003 ($2.70 each).

*Both bottles illuminated with a flashlight

Total cost: $51.26 – Total replacement time: 90 minutes.
