Abstract on activities covered during the week

In this week we saw that how to dismantle formwork from column and slab
after it gains minimum requirement to be harden. we have been told by the
workers it is dangerous if we not make the dismantling one by one. also in this
week we has been seen how to correct a formwork alignment which is shifted from
the position stated in the drawing.

beside this works there is also a formwork work to the second floor beam. also
there is an establishment of probs for supporting the second floor beam and make a
sponda and phondo for the beam.

On these week we saw how the workers(labours) dismantle the formwork,

arrange and place it for the next upcoming work.an also there is concrete
work to the first floor column with in c-30 grade. the concrete is mixed in the
site and it is fill by using of a crane and skip.

Preparation of probs, modini, and morale work for second floor slab is started
and check its horizontal alignment. by using nail fixing and tauten string.

On these week we saw that phondo(bottom formwork of a beam) and

sponda(side formwork of a beam)work ae done. In this work the labour’s
must have to be make the thickness the same length of the beam. and also the
spond have to be measured the same end to end of the beam depth.

Also there is reinforcement work for elevator and for ground slab.in
reinforcing the slab we must provide a spacer between the upper negative bar
and the bottom bar like an anchorage shape to separate and to have the same
thickness in the overall part of the slab. there is an establishment of probs for
the cantilever slab.
 Methodology

 check the proceeding work acceptance

 Then prepare the reinforcement as per the design (length, type,
diameter, and cut, bent...)
 prepare the formwork and assemble them around the beam with the
required clear cover by providing spacer of the right thickness
 place the prepared reinforcement on their position as per the design
 then it is ready to be casted after check the alignment and it is ok

In this week we saw that how to make a test of concrete if it gains its strength
or not gain its minimum requirement. This work is done by taking the
concrete into the cube, and compact it 5 times with in 3 layers make it dry
and take it to the laboratory and place it in water for 28 day’s after this by
using a machine and by applying a constant load test the concrete how much
load it can impose up to it crushed.

Also in this week we understand reinforcement for beam Steel reinforcement is

equally strong in compression and tension but, long steel bare can develop its full
tensile strength whereas it cannot carry equally amount of compressive force due
to its buckling which caused by slenderness.
Before reinforcement bar of the beam has to be placed, it has to be prepared
according to bending bare schedule of office Engineer. This bare bending schedule
includes lap length, diameter and hooking length of the reinforcement as specified
in structural drawing details.

On these week there is a transportation of reinforcement bar to the site within

the desirable diameters. after transportation and placing preparation of
reinforcement bar for the elevator started by bending cutting and tying

On these week we saw a building of a new Store room, dressing room and
office room transferring
Of materials those stored in the old store to the new one.in the building of the
store the workers told as the store should placed in a place of not water
addressing area specially for cement.

Small and Valuable Items ~ these should be kept in a secure and lockable
store. Similar items should be stored together in a rack or bin system and only
issued against an authorized requisition.

The location and size(s) of space to be allocated for any particular material
should be planned by calculating the area(s) required and by taking into
account all the relevant factors before selecting the most appropriate position
on site in terms of handling, storage and convenience.

On these week there is concreting of elevator house wall on axis 2-3 between
axis D-E after it gains the required minimum strength dismantling the
formwork is done in this week.
Beside this works reinforcement work for ground for the ground floor slab is
done based on the bar bending schedule stated in the drawing.

Bar schedule is a detail which gives the exact length of bars, and total weight
of bars needed for a particular structural member.
In reinforcing the slab, column, beam we use a concrete spacer which makes a
space between the formwork and the bar.
