A. Answer the questions below. Use the examples as models of the grammar and
vocabulary you have to use.

1. Why didn’t you study English before? (List at least 5 reasons in a

composition.)

Example:

One of the reasons why I didn’t study English before it is because I thought it
was too difficult. I didn’t understand my English teacher at school and that
was frustrating.
1. One of the main reasons is that universities and colleges
teach very basic English and do not take the time to teach
advanced specific subjects.

2. Another reason is that my family had no money to pay me

for additional English classes at an English academy.

3. I did not have a laptop or cell phone to download English

applications or sign up for virtual classes.

4. I had no books or brochures in English to help me.

5. I was not interested or motivated to learn English.

2. How different would things be if you had learned English before? (Name and
explain at least 5 things.)

Example:

If I had learned English some years ago I would have accepted a job a
multinational company offered me five years ago. One of the requirements
was to speak English and my level back then was very low.
If I had learned English earlier, I would have won many tests and assignments. She

was not very good with English subjects at school. Also, I would have won an English

contest at my school years ago, and that time I didn't know much English. If I had been

interested enough in learning earlier, I would have studied in another country at this

age, because my school was offering a scholarship for students with a high level of

English. Other things if I had learned English I would be living in Atlanta with my

aunt and her family. And the last thing is that I could speak better with my English

teacher or with foreign people.

B. Record an audio file of yourself answering the following questions. Use the
examples as models of the grammar and vocabulary you have to use.

1. Why are you studying English? (List and explain at least 4 reasons.)

I am studying English because I decided that it is for my career it opens many

doors for me, because it is the universal language, the great psychology texts
are in English and to be able to travel the world.

2. In what ways are you going to benefit from this learning?

English is the most learned language as a second language, surpassing the rest of
the languages. Also knowing English will help us to better understand our culture
and our language, since there are not a few anglicisms that we use in our daily
lives
