Premarital sex is a matter nowadays. In its countless numbers of occurrence,

youths are more prone to this incidences. Keeping purity or virginity before matrimony is

a significant matter nowadays. But also, there several incidences that challenge this

matter to prosper. This attitude is more related to liberalism.

In response to the issue on premarital sex, the researchers came up with the idea

of determining the perception of the students with regards to this issue. Researchers

believe that by this study, they may help youth and other affected social members in

identifying the perception of students towards the matter. This will lead to a creation of a

special activity that will educate their minds about the consequence of the premarital sex.

They also believed that with effective implementation of strategies, it would benefit the

whole society specially the youth.

Therefore, the researchers conducted this research to analyze the problem in the

society. They aim to know the perception of students on premarital sex if it differs in

terms of age and sex. Also, they want to know what are the indicators used by the

respondent. The researchers used the mixed method of research in conducting to the 220

Findings

The researchers found out that 26.4% of the population is in the age bracket of 14-

16, and 73.6% is to 17-19 years old. They have also found out that there is 140 (63.6 %)

out of 220 respondents are female and 80 is to male.

They also found out that students strongly agree that sex is sacred and should be

done after marital permission, by having the weighted mean of 3.40. And it also states

that they strongly disagree that it acceptable to have sex with someone you have only

known for a day. (one night stand)

The researchers set indicators and found out that the Mass media (3.2) and

Friends(3.04) are the most often source of information about sex. Seldom, Books (2.21),

Sex Education (2.17), Parents (1.91) and magazine (1.87) are there source of information.

Over-all, they seldom get information in these indicators.

When they have tested the significant relationship of profile and perception, it

states that they will reject the null hypothesis since p-value<0.05, that is (0.000<0.05),

(0.020<0.05). In here, they conclude that there is a significant relationship between

profile and perception of the respondents.

The researchers tested the significant relationship between indicators and

perception, In terms of Sex Education, Books and Parents, shows that they accept the null

hypothesis since p-value>0.05, that is (0.764>0.05), (0.351>0.05), (0.950>0.05). In terms

of Mass Media, Magazine and Friends, shows that they will reject the null hypothesis

since p-value<0.05, that is (0.033<0.05), (0.764<0.05), (0.035<0.05). In all the indicators,

they have ound out that they will accept the null hypothesis since the p-value >.05, that is

(0.240>0.05)
