Dear Sir/Madam,
I am inspired and motivated humanitarian professional with a total of nearly eight years of progressive professional
experiences and practical skill in refugee & host community operation assistances in mainly emergency programme
of different situations; i.e. (conflict, disease outbreak, drought emergency response, refugees & IDPs) and
currently working with Action Against Hunger as a Psychologist-Clinical Lead in Mental Health, Psychosocial
Support Gender and Protection department, Since July 2020 dated. I have been working with GO, LNGO and INGO
at different positions in different Organization. From April 2014 to Dec 2017, I have worked for Partner for
Refuge Service (PRS) Tongo Refugee Camp as a Education & training facilitator and Agriculture and
Rural Development Offices in Beni Shangul Gumuz Region, Mao Komo Special Woreda, Tongo Town in
Benishangul Gumuz Region in Ethiopia, respectively.
Besides, I have tremendous experiences working with staffs and communities of different geographic, socio-
economic and cultural backgrounds in highly stressful situations like conflict and very remote areas where there is
very little facilities for a young girl like me.
I have a BA Degree in Sociology from Jimma University and Diploma in Agriculture from Assosa ATVET
Collage.
Since January 2018, I have been working with Action Against Hunger (AAH) from 12 January 2018-31 August
2018 as a Psychosocial Worker at Gure-Shebolla refugee camp Bambasi Field Office in Benishangul Gumuz
Region, from 11 October 2018-Feburary-2019 as a Psychologist at Nguenyyiel refugee camp Gambella Field Office
Ethiopia and from 28 February 2019 dated as a Psychologist-Clinical Lead at West Wollega Oromia, Gimbi Field
Office,Ethiopia.
During my stay with the above mentioned Organizations and communities, I have advanced my professional
experience; knowledge and skills on provide Mental Health, Psychosocial support, Gender & Protection
interventions; conduct capacity building on GBV case management, prevention of sexual exploitation,
abuse & how safely report concerns to government staff (social workers and health workers) through
trainings and supervision, train health workers, other AAH departments & WoWCY staff on psychological first aid
( PFA) and coaching and monitoring, crisis interventions stress and distress management for clients and their
families & facilitate basic IYCF( infant, young child feeding) & care practice training for implementation woreda
health workers( HWs) & health extension workers (HEWs) and development health agents ( DHAs) monitor care
practice behaviors of target beneficiaries via household visit & engagement to individuals and facilitate /lead group
therapeutic activities,assist technical gaps of psychosocial workers and health workers related to services provision
through on sight supervision and using checklists to know the training needs & provide support and conduct
regular mental health assessments & behavior change & report to PM and to look for beneficiaries improvement,
train & coach other department staffs to incorporate mental health, psychosocial support gender & protection
activities in their routine tasks and prepare program intervention plan & follow implementation, casework and
make referrals as necessary, strong believe on team work & partnership working, Contribute to the development
implementation of mental health, psychosocial, gender & protection program & Carried out monitoring and
evolution of the project activities.
Moreover, I supervise and capacitate local community and refugees mentor/ Social workers and health workers
formally and informally to provide quality life skill sessions through on the job- training, daily monitoring, weekly
review meeting and applying regular knowledge and skills assessment tools to deliver quality support services. In
addition; in collaboration with implementing partners and community, leaders develop & giving awareness creation
on mental health wellbeing, gender & protection issues among community service workers developed at kebele
level through woreda health office on prevention, disease transmission and response measure to COVID-19
through training them on basic facts of the pandemic as part of psychological aspect
I passed through different challenges, which helped me to develop my psychological & professional fitness to work in any difficult
