executive branch.
Pedagogy

Online Activity
This lesson will first begin online with a Zoom meeting with me
and the entire class. A link to the Zoom meeting will be sent out
to all students to join at the discussed time. While on the zoom,
I will introduce the topic of the three branches of government
and our system of checks and balances. I will briefly describe
each level and what they are responsible for and how the
system works. After final questions have been asked and the
review is complete, I will assign the following project to be done
within the next 3 days (before our next Zoom meeting):

students will scroll down to where they see the game
“Branches of Power.” (first row, all the way to the right)
this link will take you directly to the game, if there is any
trouble locating the game on the cite.

encourage students to check out the entire cite to see
what else it has to offer, but either link works)
 This game is labeled at 30+ minutes, the students will
play this game and take notes throughout the game, for
a later assignment.

 This game allows for students to be apart of the process,


the students will be picking their characters, their beliefs
and ideas for their campaigns and bills.
 TSW play through the entire game to watch their bill
come to life
 As the students are playing this game, they need to
make notes about their bill, their belief systems, etc. to
share with the class on our next meeting
 When we meet again on zoom we will have a class
“election,” for our bills. Each student will be presenting
themselves, their belief system, their bills and what they
thought about the whole process to the class. (this will
take 2 zoom meetings)
