INTRODUCE YOURSELF

First and foremost, a pleasant morning to all, Hon. Board Members, Doctor Monares, Sir
Dariagan, Sir Arcenas, and to all the members of the panel, it is an honor to be here today. Now let me
introduce myself starting off with my name. I am Johanna S. Adremesin, 22 years old, residing at
Malipayon Village, Roxas City. I took up Bachelor of Science in Accountancy as my college degree at
Colegio De La Purisima Concepcion and finished it with Latin Honors in year 2018. After almost six
months of review I took the CPA Licensure Examination in October 2018 and fortunately with God’s
grace, I passed it. I am also a Civil Service Exam –Professional Level passer which I took in year 2017
when I was still in college. After passing the CPALE, I became a Staff Accountant in the AFZ Accounting
Services managed by our college professor. We work on producing financial statements there, either on
a monthly, quarterly or yearly basis. We also do other accounting services like preparing the client’s VAT
return, Percentage Return, remittance return on taxes withheld, their annual registration form and the
likes. I worked for almost four months there, as one of the Staff Accountants and on February 18, 2019, I
started my career here in the Capiz Provincial Government, specifically in the Provincial Accountant’s
Office. As a young professional, I understand that for this position of Administrative Officer II –
Accountant 1 that you’re hiring for, you are looking for someone with strong process improvement
skills. Overall due to my strong background and achievements, I am confident I will be able to succeed in
this role you are hiring for.

2. WHAT ARE YOUR WEAKNESSES?

Each and every one of us have weaknesses, in my case, I started to have this weakness when I
was in college, every time we have group activities I sometimes get irritated when my co-members don’t
carry out their assigned work to a high standard. Because I set myself high standards, I normally expect
others to have them too. But in the past years, I have been trying to turn this weakness into something
positive. For example, helping co-employees within the working environment to improve.

3. WHAT ARE YOUR STRENGTHS?

Well, I have many positive qualities and attributes but my main key strengths are: I am a hard-
working person, being honest to the best that I can, I am always looking for the positives in every
situation, I like to support and help develop others and I am always looking for ways to improve the way
I perform at work.

4. HOW DO YOU SEE YOURSELF 3 - 5 YEARS FROM NOW?

Projecting one’s future is like putting the pieces of a puzzle altogether but… without knowing
what the picture really is. So if I were given a chance to see myself 3-5 years from now, I want it to be
like this. By that time I am already a regular employee here in the Capiz Provincial Government
specifically working in the Accounting Office continuing the values and ideals of being a good employee,
beating deadlines, achieving goals in an effective and efficient manner, and on top of it giving the best
that I can, not just for the better good of the Office and the province itself but most especially in order
to serve the public interest.

5. WHY DO YOU WANT TO WORK HERE?


Having read the job description of this role, I feel I have the skills, qualities and attributes to
carry out the job to a high standard. I also feel the role will give me a new, fresh challenge. Something
which I have been looking for, where I can deliver my knowledge and skills more fruitfully. Finally, I
understand there will be opportunities to both train, develop and take on further qualifications – this is
something that is very much appealing to me as I always like to grow and improve as an employee.

5. HOW CAN YOU HELP IMPROVE YOUR OFFICE?

As of now, the things that I could do to help improve our office is bringing out the best in me
while performing the task assigned to me, finishing it in a timely manner and setting as a good example
towards my co-employees when it comes to being effective and efficient in achieving goals.

You should hire me because of the talents and skills that I possess. The experience and
achievements that I have plus my attitude towards work, having a mindset like “learning doesn’t end
there! I need to strive more, work harder!” I guess this is enough for me to think that I perfectly fit for
the job.

8. HOW DO YOU HANDLE STRESS AND PRESSURE?

I am not someone who is fond of working in stressful environments. My first step in managing
stress is to try to circumvent it by keeping my work processes very organized, and my attitude
professional. Take few deep breaths, analyze the situation and think of every possible solution to
address the problem. Think of situations that could help solve the problem without stressing oneself .
