Universal Design for Learning (UDL): Students may struggle to learn different ways to express things or show
how to do certain things in or out of class. Using audio tools can allow for those students to have a voice or
want to be more involved in the class activities. Students may not be able to type very well or write very, but
can use their voice or sounds to create an equal opportunity with their peers.
Lesson idea implementation: Students will be creating an audio file using either Soundcloud or Audacity to
upload their project. Students will be creating songs using the music making software called Incredibox or
making a podcast. This software is easy to use and allows the students to create, record, and share their songs
they have made. Being able to do these will allow students to be more engaged in the opportunities offered
by technology. For students who may want more of a challenge, the teacher can offer to have them right
lyrics to their songs or have them talk before, during, or after their songs in order to make it more interesting
once they submit it to Soundcloud or Audacity. Each song or podcast will be 3-5 minutes long and should be
on topic with what we have learned throughout this semester. The feedback that I will be giving to the
students will be done throught the comment section on the websites Soundcloud and/or Audacity. Doing this
form of feedback allow students to directly know how they did right under their post instead of having to
figure out post the teacher is talking about from other sources.
Importance of technology: Being able to use this tool for students is very critical. Students can easily create
podcast with their own voices and share information with their peers and the world. Being able to use your
voice personalizes the activity and allows others to fully hear exactly what you are meaning to convey
throughout the activity. Also, being able to show your creativity in the music you create can help bring
confidence out of students.

Internet Safety and Student Privacy: Something that that could happen as a result of unsafe behaviors on the
internet are the possibility of someone downloading a file of a child’s. Soundcloud is an open and public
website for anyone to access, and information can easily be taken from it. It is best if students use fake names

and school emails instead of personal emails.
Reflective Practice: The activity that will help my students tremendously. Having them be able to listen to
their own podcast or audio file is very important for reflective practices. Doing this allows them to share
information with each other and enjoy the many ideas and creations each student may have.
