What it is The Barranquilla
celebrated? Carnival is, without a
doubt, the main of all
the festivals in
Colombia. Such is its
importance that
Unesco itself declared
it a Masterpiece of the
Oral and Intangible
Heritage of Humanity.
This is due to the four
intense days that
make up the Carnival
and that make this
cultural and folkloric
event a unique
example of ethnic
diversity, joy, dance,
music and tradition.
Where and Carnival is celebrated
when it is before Ash
celebrated. Wednesday, which
usually happens in
February or March.
However, the party is
so big that it has a
pre-carnival, which
begins in mid-January.
