Dua’ for Gaining knowledge:

‫ع ْق َدةً ِّمن‬
ُ ‫ل‬ ْ ‫س ًْر لي أ َ ْمري َو‬
ًْ ُ‫احل‬ ِّ َ‫ص ْدري َوي‬ ًْ ‫ب ا ْش َر‬
َ ‫ح لي‬ ًِّ ‫َر‬
ً ‫ساني يَ ْفقَ ُهواقَ ْول‬
‫ي‬ َ ِّ‫ل‬

Rabbishrah lee sadree Wayassir lee amree

Wahlul ‘uqdatan min lisanee Yafqahoo qawlee

O my Sustainer! Open up my heart and make my task easy for me, and loosen the knot from
my tongue so that they might fully understand my speech.
 Dua’ for studying
something difficult:
‫ن إذا‬ ْ
ًَ ‫الحز‬ ًُ ‫أنت ت َ ْج َع‬
‫ل‬ َ ُ‫ل إال َما َجعَلت َ ًه‬
ًَ ‫س ْهال ًَو‬ ًَ ‫س ْه‬
َ ‫الل ُهمً ال‬
‫س ْهال‬
َ ‫ت‬ ًَ ْ‫شئ‬.
Allahumma la sahla illa ma ja’altahu sahla,
wa ‘anta taj-alul hazna idha shi’ta sahla
O Allah! There is nothing easy except what You make easy, and You make the difficult easy if
it is Your Will.
 Dua’ when suffering from
stress, tension or anxiety:
َ ‫ والعً ْجـزِ وال َك‬،‫ـزن‬
ِ‫سل‬ ْ ‫ن ال َهـمِ َِو ْال ُح‬ َِ ‫الل ُهـمِ إني أَعْو ِذُ ب‬
َِ ‫ك م‬
‫ل‬ َ ‫ض ْلـعِ الـديْنِ و‬
ِ ‫غلَبَـةِ الرجا‬ َ ‫ و‬،‫والبُ ْخـلِ وال ُجـبْن‬
Allahhumma innee aaoothu bika minal-hammi
wal huzni, wal ‘ajzi wal kasali wal bukhli wal
jubni, wa zalaid-dayni wa ghalabatir-rijaal
O Allah, I seek refuge in you from grief and sadness, from weakness and from laziness, from
miserliness and from cowardice, from being overcome by debt and overpowered by men .
 Dua’ when suffering from
stress, tension or anxiety:
َ َ‫ط ْرفَ ِة‬
ِ‫عيْن‬ َ ‫ل تَك ْلني إلَى نَ ْفسي‬ ِ َ َ‫ك أ َ ْر ُجو ف‬
َِ َ ‫الل ُهمِ َر ْح َمت‬
َِ ‫ل أ َ ْن‬
‫ت‬ َِ ُ‫ي شَأْني ُكل ِه‬
َِ ‫ل إلَ ِهَ إ‬ ِ‫حل‬ ِْ ‫صل‬ْ َ ‫َوأ‬
Allahumma rahmataka arjoo fala takilnee ila nafsee
tarfata Aaayn, wa-aslih lee shanee kullah, la ilaha illa
ant
O Allah, it is Your mercy that I hope for, so do not leave me in charge of my affairs even for a blink
of an eye, and rectify for me all of my affairs. None has the right to be worshiped except You.” [Abu
Dawood]
 Dua’ before or during exam
ً‫ّللاُ ُه َوً الذي أَي َد َك‬
ً ً‫وك فَإنً َح ْسبَ َك‬ ًَ ‫ع‬ُ ‫َوإن يُريدُوا أَن يَ ْخ َد‬
ًَ ‫صرهً َوب ْال ُمؤْ من‬
‫ين‬ ْ َ‫بن‬

wa-in yurīdū an yakhdaʿūka fa-inna ḥasbaka l-

lahu huwa alladhī ayyadaka binaṣrihi wabil-
mu'minīna

But if they intend to deceive you, then indeed, Allah is sufficient for you. He (is) the One Who
supported you with His help and with the believers (Surah:8, Ayah:62)
Dua for gaining knowledge:
‫بً ز ْدني ع ْلمًا‬
ِّ ‫ر‬

Rabbi zid'nī ʿil'man

My Lord, increase me in knowledge. (Surah:20, Ayah 114)

 Dua after exam:

Allahhumma inni astaodeeuka ma qara’tu

wama hafaz-tu. Faradduhu ‘allaya inda hagati
elayhi. Innaka ‘ala ma-tasha’-u qadeer wa
anta hasbeeya wa na’mal wakeel.

Oh Allah! I entrust You with what I have read and I have studied. (Oh Allah!) Bring it back to
me when I am in need of it. (Oh Allah!) You do whatever You wish, and You are my Availer
and Protector and the best of aid.
