Why we chose this topic?

One of the reasons on why we chose The Importance of Sexual Education as our topic is
because we want to raise deeper awareness especially to those people who only knows about this
issue but does not know exactly how to react upon it or their responsibility as a community to help
others who are facing problem such as sexual harassment and such.

Not only that, we want to help to enlighten the society including the children regarding the
importance of learning about Sexual Education. Up until now, it is hard to discuss about Sexual
Education in school, let alone implementing this subject in our current education syllabus. This is
most probably because of the thought that students are too young and they might misunderstood about
the contents of Sexual Education. Hence, mislead them if care is not taken especially as it is a one
sensitive subject.

Besides that, we want the children to plant and obtain the role and responsibility of their own
gender by gaining the knowledge of sex. Grasping the contrasts and resemblance between two
genders concerning the body and mind will assist to construct a foundation for the future progress in
their relationship with others.

In addition, we wish that by choosing this topic, we can create awareness about the diseases
and infections, the consequences of their actions and how to be safe in an unsafe environment.
Therefore, it will help to shield the youths from cases like sexual abuse or molestation that are
happening nowadays.

A lot of high-risk behaviours among youth, such as sexual assault, baby dumping and incest
can lead to the demise of morals. Thus, learning about Sexual Education will promote to the youth so
that they can manage to acknowledge and comprehend the unethical and barbaric aspect of such
behaviours.
We must not allow the generation gap between the youth and those before come in the way to
implement this subject in schools. Preconceived ideas and biases avert one from apprehending the
value of Sexual Education. The society today must accept this venture as a responsibility and not just
as a part of the curriculum.
We believe and hope that the implementation of Sexual Education as one of the crucial
subjects with a good structured-syllabus will help to change the perception and view of the society
and create a more civilised and better community in the future.
