PRESENTATION ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA

This chapter brings in the presentation of the findings and analysis derived from

survey questionnaires and provides the background to the respondents by analyzing their

demographic details.

Respondents Profile

The profile of the respondents includes the source of living and the family’s

classification of socio-economic status.

Families residing near the powerplants are in partition of the following source of

living ten (10) percent are agriculture works and growing of crops, twenty (20) percent

company workers, thirty (30) percent landlord and apartment owners and last is forty (40)

percent tricycle driver.

The Respondents near the Power plants has low income but not poor and the others

have a high income but not rich and the majority of the respondents belong to middle class.

The respondents agree that power plants has somehow advantageous and disadvantages

about Health related issues with a main rating of 4.02.

In connection to this, the respondents strongly agree that Power plants caused air pollution,

eye irritation, skin irritation and lowers the value of agricultural products. Because they

experience the effects of Power plants, that’s why they can easily respond if they are

strongly agree to the questions that the researcher prepared. The dust from Power plants

causes skin irritation with an average of 4.65. The dust from Power plants causes eye

irritation with an average of 4.63. The Power plant causes air pollution and pollution

lowers the value of agricultural products with an average of 4.58. The dust from Power

plants irritates the respiratory system with an average of 4.48. The Power plant causes

noise pollution with an average of 4.43. The dust from the Power plants makes the

respondents feel frustrated with cleaning their house with an average of 4.28. The Power

plants affects water resource usage with an average of 3.13 and the noise from the Power

plants bothers the respondents with an average of 3.03.

The respondents undecided that the livelihood has some advantages and disadvantages with

a main rating of 3.50.

In connection to this, the respondents agree that the Power plants affects the livelihood of

the citizen and they also agree that due to the Power plant the employment rate increases.

The impact of Power plants affects the livelihood of the citizen with an average of 4.10.

Due to the Power plant the employment rate increases with an average of 4.05 and due to

this the Power plant the unemployment rate increases with an average of 2.35.

The respondents agree that Power plants affect the Industrialization and Modernization has

somehow advantageous and disadvantages with a main rating of 3.69.

In connection to this, the respondents agree that the modernization enhance the quality of

modernization. The modernization enhance the quality of life in their locality with an

average of 4.38 and industrialization is the conversion of agricultural lands to Power plants

with an average of 3.00.
