COVID-19 tally hits 1366, recovery surpasses active cases
IMPHAL, Jul 5: The Fede-
ration of Haomee is forming
an ILP (Inner Line Permit)
Monitoring Cell to check
influx of illegal migrants in
the State, said a statement of
the federation today.
Stating that the effective-
ness of the ILPS (Inner Line
Permit System) depends on
alertness of the Government
authorities and people, the
federation said it will be
monitoring the movement
of migrants as well as the
status of ILP.
It also urged clubs, or-
ganisations and people of
the State to cooperate and
assist the federation in
monitoring migrants.
100 MT of
pineapples bought

Department of Horticulture
and Soil Conservation has
procured 100 MT of
pineapples from farmers in
Jiribam. Of the 100 MT of
pineapples, 16 MT reached
the MOMA (Manipur Orga-
nic Mission Agency) outlet
today.

Department bought 100 MT
of pineapples from the farm-
ers in Jiribam to ease the
hardship they are facing due
to lack of market amid the
COVID-19 lockdown.
The Department took the
step following the advice of
Chief Minister N Biren
Singh. Jiribam produces
about 400 MT of pineapples
a year and the farmers gen-
erally exported the produces
to neighbouring States.
With markets shut due to
the coronavirus pandemic
this season, the farmers
have been facing immense
hardship. The department in-
tervened to help the farmers
and save the produces from
perishing/rotting, she said.

recorded 41 new cases of
COVID-19 during the last 24
hours taking the tally to 1366.
These include 677 active
cases and 689 recovered
cases which means the
recovery rate has surpassed
the active cases.
According to a press re-
lease issued by Additional
Director (Health) and
COVID-19 Common Con-
trol Room spokesman Dr
Kh Sasheekumar, 21 sam-
ples were tested positive at
RIMS and 20 others at
JNIMS during the last 24
years.
18 of them belong to
Kamjong district, one each
to Churachandpur, Imphal
East and Noney, two each
to Tamenglong and Ukhrul,
six to Imphal West and four
to Kakching.
