OUR SOLUTION
ANOSAN® is produced from demineralized water and pure

table salt by electrochemical activation.
It shows a strong ORP voltage of about +850 mV.

According to Liao et al. (2007) Such a strong ORP
destroys the inner and outer membrane of microorganisms.

ANOSAN® IS PRODUCED BY ECALIT
Electrochemical activation low ion transfer (ECALIT) is based on anodic or

cathodic electrical treatment of aqueous salt solutions.
The treatment takes place in an electrolysis cell (electrolyzer) equipped with

a membrane between the electrodes.
The membrane keeps the two parts of the salt solution separated.
After treatment two solutions are leaving the electrolyzer:

• ANOSAN® from the anode chamber and
• KATHOSAN® from the cathode chamber.
ANOSAN® IS PRODUCED BY ECALIT
For production of neutral ANOSAN® the salt solution is first treated

in the cathode chamber and then in the anode chamber.
The following chemical reactions occur:
At the surface of the cathode water molecules (H2O) are reduced

by negatively charged electrons (e) and split.

In a second step the basic solution is treated in the anodic chamber. Here
the solution is oxidized on the surface of the anode by removing negatively
charged electrons (e).

THE OXIDATION PROCESS
During the oxidation processes hypochlorous acid (HOCl) is produced from

hydroxyl-ions (OH-), chloride (Cl-) and water (H2O).
The pH drops significantly because hydroxyl-ions (OH-) disappear and

protons (H+) are produced.
The solution leaving the anodic chamber is ANOSAN®.
SUPERIOR DISINFECTION
10% ANOSAN® solution kills micro-organisms within one minute:

• Bacteria >log 5-reduction
• Fungi >log 4-reduction
• Virus (enveloped and non-enveloped) >log 4-reduction
In water pipe systems of buildings (i.e. hospitals, hotels) ANOSAN® reduces

problems with micro-organisms and removes biofilm.
Biofilm removal is a prerequisite for sustainable sanitation of drinking water.
BIOFILM DECOMPOSITION
Biofilm was grown in silicon tubing by cycling a bacteria suspension

for some weeks.
The tubing was then cut into defined pieces and incubated with different
disinfecting solutions in roller flasks.
The number of colony forming units (cfu) indicates the survival rate of bacteria
after treatment, semi-logarithmic plot:

EFFECTIVE AGAINST MERS & EBOLA

Client requirements were to eliminate algae and prevent future growth, while providing
a safe solution in disinfection for both aquatic life and birds.
1,300 Litres (1 IBC and 300 L) of ANOSAN TW® was required for initial disinfection.
Stability and maintenance consists of 50 Litres of ANOSAN TW® to be placed directly
in the lake every day.

Food manufacturing sanitizers are the core of food safety at a production and
