• Simple notification from the UMPIRES from a Game day perspective.
• Opportunity for SELF improvement.
• 2 Blue cards for same indiscretion = 1 Yellow card

GAME DAY ENVIRONEMNT– (YEAR 3 – 6)

KEY POINTS

• Runners
– 1 runner only per team
– 1 message per trip to the field of play, then off the ground. Except YEAR 3 (See next slide)
• Coaching Area
– 6 people within the coaching area
– Coach, Assistant Coach (2 MAXIMUM), Manager, First Aid, Runner.
– Timekeeper considered independent as they also function as Scorer – some venues will
have CENTRAL SIRENS
GAME DAY ENVIRONEMNT– (YEAR 3 – 6)

KEY POINTS

• Water Carrier
– Are not permitted inside coaching/ protected area
– 1 only

• Year 3
– Coaches are allowed to coach on the ground (no files, boards etc.) Best practice is too be
at the other end to the action resetting players into position – Coaching
– To remain minimum 5 meters from play.
GAME DAY ENVIRONEMNT– (YEAR 3 – 6)

KEY POINTS

• Managers
– Can only approach umpire to offer water.
– Managers can not ask umpires questions/ interpretations etc. during the game. Only at
completion of the game.

MODIFIED NIGHT FOOTBALL

UPDATE

The WAFC has received approval to trial


playing Night Football across modified age
groups (Year 3-6) at 50 lux or greater lighting
in 2019.

Contact your Club President if you’re


interested in playing Night Football at 50 LUX
in 2019.

GRIEVANCE PROCEDURES
Grievance Procedure

We hope that these are very limited throughout 2019, but in the event that an issue
needs to be resolved, the below process is to be followed:

• Game Day – this is an important function of both team managers, sometimes a


simple conversation is enough to deal with it. If the issue cant be resolved, email your
club President (or other internal process – discuss this with you club), you can also
approach WAFC Officials at the ground.

• President-to-President – If an issue arises out of a game and you are notified, please
liaise with the President of the other club in the first instance. Depending on
seriousness it can be verbal or email. This is to resolve the matter. NB – All
Competition Directors are available for advice but NOT TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE at this
point.
GREIVANCE PROCEDURE

• If this doesn’t resolve the issue, contact a COMPETITION DIRECTOR, preferably via email and
highlight the issue and measures taken to resolve. Maree, Corey and the DO’s will forward
these through anyway.

• Competition Directors will discuss and respond. If clubs are unhappy, they can elect to appeal
– please refer to: Page 6, 2019 Junior Football Competition Policies, Rules & Regulations,
Section 2; Competition Governance, point 7, DISPUTES & APPEALS, sub point 7.2.

• Central Conference Finals - 3 weeks, top 4, investigating all division Grand Finals @ a WAFL Venue
on the same day. Year 11/2 Grand Final will fall on Preliminary Final Weekend for all other
competitions.
• Division 1 Cross Conference 2 week finals – Peel, Fremantle, North & Central
