ACTIVITY COMPLETION REPORT

I. Title of the Activity:


METROBANK-MTAP-DEPED MATH CHALLENGE
DIVISION TEAM FINALS 2019

II. Objectives: The over-all objectives of the competition is to contribute in improving the quality of
Mathematics education in the Philippines through the following:
1. awaken greater interest in Mathematics among junior high school students;
2. challenge students to strive for mathematics excellence;
3. empower mathematical talents with awards and recognitions for them to serve as models
to the youth;
4. develop values of hardwork, perseverance, honesty teamwork and sportsmanship; and
5. provide learners with opportunities in leadership and cooperative undertaking.

IV. Narrative Report


The Metrobank-MTAP-DepEd Math Challenge is an annual competition where
mathematically inclined learners exhibit their carefully-worked out prowess in the different grade
level competitions.

Relative to Division Memorandum No. 084, s. 2019, entitled 2019 Metrobank-MTAP-Deped


Math Challenge Division Finals dated 30 January 2019, was chosen to be the host school of the
Math Challenge Division Team Finals.

The Mathematics Department was designated by the School Head, to spearhead in the
planning of activities relative to the contests. To this effect, several committees were organized
to carry-out specific task to ensure the smooth flow of the contest.

The event was graced by representative of the Municipal Mayor and the Assistant Schools
Division Superintendent, During the opening program, the newly crowned and First Magara
Festival Queen and the NHS Dance Warriors entertained the participants with their winning
Magara Festival presentation.

The following schools were proclaimed winners in the tightly contested challenge:

3rd Juan V. Delantar NHS
Grade 9

Generally, the contest was successful and all tasks were carried out.

V. Results /
Outcomes The over – all outcome of the contest was successful. Specifically, the following were
attained:
o the testing rooms were prepared and used technology during the examination.
o new sets of winners were proclaimed.

VI. Problems
Encountered: The flow of the Opening Program was not followed because the representative of the
Municipal Mayor was late.

VII. Insights and


Recommendations:  The school capable of hosting the Regional Final of the Metrobank-MTAP-DepEd Math
Challenge.

Appendix A
The Department Head of the Mathematics, Ms. Belen D. Sabay introduced the participants from the
different competition school across Leyte Division.

Dr. Julio B. Tolosa, Principal II delivered a heart-warming and welcoming speech which was highly
applauded by the participants. He also stressed out the tedious preparation made for the
successful hosting of the contest.
Our Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, Edgar Y. Tenasas, congratulated the coaches and students
for making it this far in the competition. According to him, it is not difficult to dispose ourselves when we win,
but if we loss that is how we measure ourselves.
Ms. Gina P. Diloy, Education Program Supervisor and SHS Coordinator
gave the mechanics of the contest.
Our Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, Edgar Y. Tenasas led in the opening of the sealed test materials
and was later distributed by Ms. Gina P. Diloy.

Carigara National High School employed technology in the different testing rooms.
The preparation for the Metrobank-MTAP-DepEd math Challenge Division Team Finals.
