Textbook: Calculus Early Transcendentals, 8th ed. by James Stewart.

Topics covered in this course: The following sections in the textbook


will be covered in this course: §6.1-§6.5, §7.8, §8.1, §8.3, §9.1-§9.4, §11.1-
§11.10, §12.6, §14.1-§14.6.

DGDs: According to the department, DGDs of this course are mandatory.


During DGDs, a teaching assistant will answer your questions and work
through more examples with you. You are registered to one of the following

Assignments: You will access your assignments through Brightspace. As-


signments are to be completed online using Möbius (Formerly Maple TA).
You are required to purchase or already own a license for Möbius. There is
a lot more information about this on the FAQ website (English) or the FAQ
website (Français) that you must read to avoid any inconvenience.
∗∗ Late assignments will NOT be graded.

Midterms: There will be two midterm exams on the following two dates:

Midterm 1 Thu., June 4, 2020 online


Midterm 2 Thu., July 2, 2020 online

Final Exam: The final exam will be scheduled during the exam period
(Jul. 27 - 31, 2020). It will cover all of the material of this course.

Evaluation: Your final grade will be calculated as following:

∗∗ if you miss a midterm only due to a valid and properly documented reason,
then the weight of that will be transferred to the weight of the final exam.
∗∗ In order to pass the course, you must obtain 40% or higher on the Final
Exam. If your mark is below 40%, then your final grade will be F regardless
of other marks.

Help Center: Unlike the usual format, the Math Help Centre will be avail-
able in an online format and will most likely operate on an appointment basis.
