LEARNING TO FILL MY HEART WITH WHAT CAN TRULY

SATISFY IN THE MIDST OF COVID19 OUTBREAK
What do you do when
sin becomes more
enjoyable than God?
Go and shout this
message to Jerusalem.
This is what the Lord
says:

JEREMIAH 2:2 (NLT)

“I remember how eager
you were to please me as
a young bride long ago,
how you loved me and
followed me even through
the barren wilderness.

JEREMIAH 2:2 (NLT)

“In those days Israel was
holy to the Lord, the first of
his children. All who
harmed his people were
declared guilty, and
disaster fell on them. I, the
Lord, have spoken!”

JEREMIAH 2:3 (NLT)

“What did your ancestors
find wrong with me that led
them to stray so far from
me? They worshiped
worthless idols, only to
become worthless
themselves.

JEREMIAH 2:4 (NLT)

“And when I brought you
into a fruitful land to enjoy
its bounty and goodness,
you defiled my land and
corrupted the possession
I had promised you.

JEREMIAH 2:7 (NLT)

“The priests did not ask,
‘Where is the Lord?’ Those
who taught my word ignored
me, the rulers turned against
me, and the prophets spoke
in the name of Baal, wasting
their time on worthless idols.

JEREMIAH 2:8 (NLT)

“Has anyone ever
heard of anything as
strange as this?

JEREMIAH 2:10 (NLT)

“Has any nation ever traded
its gods for new ones, even
though they are not gods at
all? Yet my people have
exchanged their glorious God
for worthless idols!

JEREMIAH 2:11 (NLT)

“The heavens are
shocked at such a thing
and shrink back in
horror and dismay,”
says the Lord.

JEREMIAH 2:12 (NLT)

“For my people have done
two evil things: They have
abandoned me—the fountain
of living water. And they have
dug for themselves cracked
cistern that can hold no

water at all!

JEREMIAH 2:13 (NLT)

Return to the
source of joy.
Don’t forsake God.
When we sin, we are
not only abandoning
God, but we are
choosing sin over Him.
Your wickedness will bring its
own punishment. Your turning
from me will shame you. You will
see what an evil, bitter thing it is
to abandon the Lord your God

and not to fear him. I, the Lord,

the Lord of Heaven’s Armies,
have spoken!

JEREMIAH 2:19 (NLT)

God is the source of all good
things—so if we abandon
Him in our lives—bad things
happen, not because God is
punishing us, but we are just
reaping the consequence of
forsaking God.
Don’t create
your own god.
Sin is what you do
when your heart is not
satisfied with God.

JOHN PIPER
Greed cannot be satisfied by
possessions; drug addiction cannot
be satisfied with a great high; lust
cannot be satisfied with
pornography; pride cannot be
satisfied with promotion or fame.
Sin will never satisfy! In the end,
happiness becomes sadness, the
thrill becomes nightmare, the
pleasure becomes an addiction. Sin
will never satisfy. Only Jesus can!
“If a man divorces his wife and
she leaves him and marries
another man, should he return
to her again? . . .you have lived
as a prostitute with many
lovers— would you now return
to me?” declares the Lord.

JEREMIAH 3:1 (NIV)

“Only acknowledge
your guilt—you have
rebelled against the
Lord your God,

JEREMIAH 3:13A (NIV)

“Return, faithless
people,” declares
the Lord, “for I am
your husband.

JEREMIAH 3:14A (NIV)
