Group of Ministers Amit Shah, Union To oversee the disposal of more than 9,400 enemy
(GoM) Home Minister(HM) properties in India, which are expected to bring in revenue
of about Rs.1 lakh crore rupees to the exchequer.

43rd Governing Council meeting Rome, Italy The IFAD’s 43rd Governing Council meeting was held
in Rome, Italy on 11-12 February 2020 on the
theme “Investing in sustainable food systems to end
hunger by 2030”. During the meet, the International
Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) stated
that the sequences of climate change and it’s impacts
on agriculture will push around 100 million people
to poverty by 2030.
9th Defence and Security Expert Islamabad, The two day long meeting of Shanghai Cooperation
Working Group (EWG) Meeting Pakistan Organisation (SCO) was held from February 19 to 20
to discuss different aspects of cooperation between
the SCO member states and regional security. They
have agreed on joint training and military exercises.
The event was hosted by Pakistan as part of the ‘SCO
Defence & Security Cooperation Plan – 2020’. India
has attended this meet along with China, Russia,
Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
Belarus attended the meeting as the observer state.
16th Commission of the Joint New Delhi Held between India and Australia in New Delhi. The

G20 Finance Ministers & Central Riyadh, Saudi On 22-23 February 2020 on the theme “Realizing
Bank Governors Meeting Arabia Opportunities of the 21st Century for All”. The meet
was chaired by the Saudi Arabia’s finance minister
Mohammed al-Jadaan and central bank governor
Ahmed al-Kholifey. It should be noted that Saudi
Arabia is the first Arab nation to hold the G20
presidency and will hold the fifteenth meeting of
Group of Twenty (G20) i.e. G20 Leaders Summit
2020 from 21-22 November 2020, in Riyadh, Saudi
Arabia.
Cabinet Committee on Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Has approved a Memorandum of Understanding
Economic Minister (PM) (MoU) between Ministry of Health and Family
Affairs (CCEA) Welfare of the Republic of India and the Ministry of
Health and Public Hygiene of the Republic of
Cote d’lvoire on Cooperation in the field of Health.
Also, a working group will be established in the
future to oversee the details of the inspection and
cooperation of the implementation of this MoU.

GST Council meet New Delhi The 39th GST Council meet headed by Finance
Minister Nirmala Sitharaman held at New Delhi.
During the meet, one of the decisions including
calculation of delayed GST payment on the net tax
liability w.e.f. 1st July 2017 is taken. Other
important decisions taken during the meet are,
Increasing GST for mobile phones and specified
parts to 18% from 12% & The GST for matchsticks

Ministry of Home Affairs constitutes two special committees to fasten CAPF works
Two special committees were formed by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to deal with the issues and
approvals related to the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF). The two new panels will deal with decision
until to find the right resolution.
First committee: It will be chaired by the Home Secretary and will deal with issues that need to
be decided between Home Ministry and CAPFs.
Second committee: It will be headed by the Secretary (Border Management) and will solve only
the procurement matters

G20 Trade and Investment Video Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Piyush
Ministers meeting Conference Goyal participated the G20 Trade and Investment
Ministers meeting was held virtually through video
conference. Members of the G-20 have agreed to the
emergency measures designed to tackle covid-19 &
they will implement those measures which uphold
the principle of international solidarity, considering
other countries’ growing needs for emergency
supplies and humanitarian aid. Saudi Arabia has
assumed presidency of G20 for the year 2020.
G20 Extraordinary Energy Video The Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas
Ministers virtual meeting 2020 Conference and Steel - Dharmendra Pradhan has attended the
G20 Extraordinary Energy Ministers’ virtual
meeting 2020 on behalf of India through video
conferencing. The meeting was presided over by
Saudi Arabia, Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz & it
G20 Finance Ministers and Central Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs,
Bank Governors (FMCBG) meeting Nirmala Sitharaman attended the virtual session of
the 2nd G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank
Governors (FMCBG) meeting. The meet was
conducted under the presidency of Saudi Arabia. Its
objective was to discuss the global economic
outlook during COVID-19 pandemic crisis. She
- discussed about Indian government’s financial
assistance of USD 3.9 billion to more than 320
million people, with a special focus on direct benefit
transfer (DBT).

Bank (WB) - International Monetary Fund (IMF)
through video conference. The meeting had updates
on World Bank group response to the covid-19
pandemic emergency & the Debt Initiative:
International Call for Action in Support of
International Development Association (IDA)
countries. The WB has decided to grant financial
support of $150-160 Billion to combat COVID-19 for
the next 15 months.
G20 Health Ministers meeting Video Dr. Harsh Vardhan Minister of Health and Family
Conference Welfare participated in G20 Health Ministers
meeting held on April 19, 2020, via Video
Conference. The objective behind this meet was to
discuss weaknesses in health systems that made the
world vulnerable to the coronavirus outbreak to
pursue unified efforts towards mitigation of COVID-
19. Also, the Global Preparedness Monitoring Board
(GPMB) estimated that, over $8 billion is required to
combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
G-20 Extraordinary Agriculture Video Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar
Ministers Meeting Conference participated in G-20 Extraordinary Agriculture
Ministers Meeting through video conference to
address the issue of COVID-19 impacts on food
security, safety and nutrition. The meeting was held
under the Saudi Presidency- King Salman bin
Abdulaziz Al Saud to discuss the ways and means to
ensure continuity of the food supply value chain,
including farmers’ livelihoods.
BRICS Foreign Ministers meeting Video The External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam
Conference Jaishankar, has attended the BRICS Foreign
Ministers meeting chaired by Russia on covid-19
which was held through video conferencing, which
was opened by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey
Lavrov. It should be noted that Russia is the Chair of
BRICS for 2020. During the meet BRICS countries
have agreed to set up a $15 billion loan instrument
for the economic rebuilding of member-states
impacted by COVID-19 crisis. The fund will be
allocated through the New Development Bank
(NDB). NDB founded by BRICS already fast-tracked
financial assistance of about $5 billion to BRICS
countries.

meeting Justice, Communications and Electronics & IT has
attended the Extraordinary Virtual G20 Digital
Economy Ministers meeting held to discuss the
- challenges posed by the outbreak of the COVID-19
pandemic and to forge a global coordinated
response harnessing Digital Technologies. The
meeting was attended by Digital Ministers of G20
member countries, invited countries and
International Organizations.
MoRTH & SIAM meeting Video Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road
Conference Transport & Highways (MoRTH) and MSMEs (Micro,
Small & Medium Enterprises) held meeting via video
conferencing with the members of SIAM (Society of
Indian Automobile Manufacturers) Institute on
impact of COVID-19 on auto sector. The target of
constructing roads worth Rs 15 lakh crore was set
for next two years.
Commonwealth Health Ministers’ Video Union Health & Family Welfare Minister Harsh
Meeting Conference Vardhan participated in the 32nd Commonwealth
Health Ministers’ Meeting through Video
Conference. The theme of the meeting is- ‘Delivering
a co-ordinated Commonwealth COVID-19 response’.

developed fully indigenous Design PPE Testing Equipment
Mumbai based Textiles Committee of Ministry of Textiles was named as the ninth approved laboratory
to test and certify Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) body coveralls produced in the country for
healthcare workers and other COVID-19 warriors. India has become the world’s second largest
manufacturer of PPE body coveralls, following China.
