SAVE WATER – For a better tomorrow

---------------------------------------------------------

Three-fourth of Earth's surface is covered by water bodies. 97 per cent of this water is present
in oceans as salt water and is unfit for human consumption. Fresh water accounts for only
about 2.7 per cent. Nearly 70 per cent of this occurs as ice sheets and glaciers n Antarctica
and other inaccessible places. Only one per cent of fresh water is available and fit for human
use. So it is very important to conserve this precious resource. And yet we are contaminating
the existing water resources with sewage, toxic chemicals and other wastes. Increasing
population and rapid urbanisation has led to over-use of water resources leading to water
pollution and scarcity.
Urban areas are generally found in the river side. Each and every industry require water for
different types of manufacturing where water is used for fabricating, processing, washing,
diluting, cooling, or transporting a product. One of the major uses of water is in power plant
to produce electricity.
Providing the importance of fresh water and supporting the management of fresh water
resources. Augmenting, conserving and efficient management of water resources by creating
social awareness among people will effectively help in conserving water. Also regulation of
ground water development and for promoting rain water harvesting and artificial recharge.
Conserving water is something that makes nature and our future safe and secure. We all know
that day by day the level of water on earth is declining and due to which our nature is badly
suffering. It should be better to learn and apply how to conserve water and keep its purity for
the healthy life of our future generation.
By practising these simple steps, we can conserve water and ensure the availability of water
to future generations. So don't tarry; start saving each and every drop of water. Let our motto
be “Save water, save life, save the world”.
