Antal Pusztai born in Györ in Hungary on 7 May 1978.

His remarkable musical talent became clear at


a very early age. When he was seven his father started to teach him the guitar, and while still a child
he studied under Professor Ede Roth at the conservatory in Györ. From 2005 to 2009 he was taught
at the University of Music and the Performing Arts in Vienna by the renowned teacher and guitarist
Professor Alvaro Pierri noteworthy guitar soloists. Between 1998 and 2014 he was awarded no fewer
than fifteen Hoteprizes in guitar competitions in Europe and the USA. These include the Herbert von
Karajan Music Competition in Vienna in 2003 in Wien, the Montreux Jazz Guitar Compe- rion in 2004,
the European Guitar Award in Dresden in 2006 and the Lee Ritenour Six Sering Theory in Los Angeles
in 2014. He has appeared as a soloist with many well-known coloists and orchestras, including Erwin
Schrott, Dalibor Karvay, Ralph Towner, Rosenberg Trio, Al di Meola, Pat Metheny, Lee Ritenour and
the Janoska Ensemble. His first solo album was recorded in 2007 for Wildner Records.

In 2015 a joint album with Lee Ritenour called Twist of Rit was recorded and nominated for a
Grammy. Since 2017 he is the guitarist in Fortissimo Band.
