When People have to leave their homes

Throughout history, human populations have spread across

the surface of the planet, to live wherever they could adapt
to the local conditions and wherever their basic needs for
water, food, and shelter could be met.

When people move from one area to another, this is called

migration. The migration of people have occurred for
various reasons, and it can be voluntary or forced.

The Voluntary migrations: occurs when people in one area

may feel there are limited opportunities for employment where they currently live and decide
to move to another place that can give them a better quality of life.

The forced migrations: occurs when people's lives, well-being or freedom is endangered. They
may have little or no choice to move.

Over the past years in Colombia people have moved from rural areas to urban areas because the
violence, persecution, and danger what they are in. On the other hand, Colombia has welcomed
thousands of Venezuelan immigrants who have left their country because the socioeconomic
crisis that live Venezuela in this moment.

Migration also carries risks

Many immigrants, find themselves in vulnerable
positions before, during and after their journey. This
may result in migrants being poorer and facing
harassment, exclusion and increased debt. For this
reason the informal work has increased and the
settlement too, and also it has caused social
inequality.

Colombia an inequality country

Colombia is one of the countries with the highest
inequality in the world, approximately 10% of the
Colombian population earns four times more than 40%
of the less favored population. It means that some
people make a lot of money while others earn very
little money.

In Colombia about 13.073.000 people live in poverty

what is equal to the 27 % of population. Do you know
what does it mean? Lot of Colombian don't have a good quality of life.

Additionally about 4,200,000 people are in extreme poverty without access to the public utility
services.
