Aloha K-7 Families,

Welcome to Kindergarten at Manoa Elementary School! My name is

Leigh Ann Shiroma and I will be your child’s kindergarten teacher for this
school year 2020-2021. This will be my second year as a kindergarten
teacher at Manoa Elementary. I have worked with sixth grade, second
grade, and preschool but I especially have a love for kindergarten! I
graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a bachelor’s
degree in early childhood and elementary education.

Kindergarten is going to be the foundation of your child’s school

experience. This is exciting for both students and teachers as it is a time
of new beginnings, friends, challenges, accomplishments, and responsibilities.
This will be a year of learning, reaching countless milestones, and lots of
fun! I know that with the cooperative efforts between our school, parents,
teacher, and students, we will have an amazing and successful school year!
It is important that we all work together as a team in order to help your
child succeed.

Again, I welcome you to K-7 at Manoa! I am very fortunate and beyond

excited to be part of your child’s kindergarten experience! I look forward
