GENERAL INTRODUCTION
Company profile
Under the jurisdiction of CHEMCHINA, a large scale enterprise group, one of 50-strongest
enterprises in China, with total asserts as high as over RMB 100 billion yuan. Hangzhou
Development Center of Water Treatment Technology (HWTT for short hereafter) was founded in
1967; as a pioneer of domestic liquid separation membrane field and an important industrialized
base of seawater desalination and water treatment technology, HWTT is second to none in the
same trade in industrialized scale and innovative ability.
HWTT is the initiator in membrane separation applied to seawater desalination, preparation of
industrial pure water, electronic ultra-pure water, food drinking water, medical use water, as well
as wastewater re-use, concentration and separation etc. And it also owns full membrane separation
products, such as reverse osmosis (RO), nanofiltration (NF), ultrafiltration(UF), microfiltration
(MF) electrodialysis (ED, EDR), and EDI.
HWTT is the supporting organ of National liquid Separation Membrane Engineering Technology
Research Center, the attaching unit of Chinese Society of Seawater Desalination and Water Reuse
and Zhejiang Province Membrane Society, the sponsoring unit of a national core journal,
Technology of Water Treatment, and the state base for research & development, fruit transfer and
production of separation membrane, and academic exchange center at home and abroad. HWTT
has a team of outstanding experts, including a member of Chinese Academy of Engineering and
10 highly esteemed experts who enjoy Special national allowance.HWTT is second to none in the
same trade in industrialized scale and innovative ability.
HWTT is a research and development unit directly under jurisdiction of the ministry (bureau) of
the State Council. HWTT first established the demonstration project of seawater desalination by
reverse osmosis (RO) in China and has abundant practical experience in the engineering
construction of seawater desalination. It constructed several seawater desalination projects with
the scale of over dozens thousand m3. Aiming at the seawater constituents and microorganism
content, the company developed by itself the RO membranes with various performances to realize
seawater desalination the most economically and effectively. HWTT possesses the qualification of
Certificate of Grade A Engineering Design in Marine Trade (Seawater Utilization) issued by the
Ministry of Construction, and Certificate of Grade A Engineering Design and Consultation issued
by the National Consultation Engineering Association.
HWTT is only unit which achieved the A class qualification certificate of special item design
